Wait, what????...

Okay...so I've realized that seeing the doctor every week can make you pretty anxious, to say the very least. Our appointment yesterday was a little unexpected particularly when Dr. Lawrence smirked and made mention of the fact that he was going to be "on-call" at Covenant all weekend, "just in case". His original prediction of January 27th may be too late after all. Our Sophie girl is promptly making her way down the canal! Luckily, everything is in total preparation for her to come home physically, whereas mentally....I can speak for both Mike and I when I say..."Holy crap, this is really happening!".

Here's a picture of my belly as of last week...Not at all flattering in my opinion but I figured I'd post for the sake of "memories"!

Our nursery is complete and probably has been for a couple months. Mike and I think it's the perfect fit for our little arrival! Enjoy...

Are we jealous Ladies???

Happy Thursday!! Love, love, love...

Hanging Low...

Well, it's been awhile since our last post. Hope your holidays were as wonderful as ours. I don't think Sophie slept all day Christmas kicking and moving around to the sound of everyone talking. Hey, can you blame her?...SANTA was here!! I must brag alittle here as Mike and I received one of the most amazing Christmas present from my EVERY-SO-TALENTED Dad and Julie. Here is a picture of Sophie's handmade bassinet [the top comes off and is used as an activity gym, I haven't gotten any toys to put on it yet though]...

Mike and I are now seeing the doctor every week to check progress. Today marks 36 weeks and several days and Sophie is hanging low. Dr. Lawrence tells us I am dilated right at a 1. WOO-HOO...okay, maybe that doesn't sound like much but we were still excited. Sophie is still in proper placement for delivery and our Doc "predicts" things will happen on January 27th, considering my progress so far. Can we say "Nesting phase in FULL throttle now?". My belly has grown another quarter inch so I'm right at 35 3/4 inches round and weigh in at 132lbs. According to my BabyCenter updates Sophie should weigh almost 6lbs, so she's definitely packing on the fat!

Many thanks to all our Lubbock family and friends for the wonderful gifts we received at our shower last weekend, January 3rd. We received so much it took two cars to get it all home! Thanks to everyone who could make it, I very much enjoyed the special day, great company and amazing food!

My sister, Jen, is pretty talented herself...here's a picture I had to show everyone. She made these storage boxes for our little one, aren't they great?!?!

And Mom...I'm so proud...Mike put the jogging stroller together and only cursed ONCE! Just kidding Honey! Any who - Owen seems to like it too...

Happy Friday!!! Have a great weekend!!!

Little update...

Nothing just extremely exciting except **CHRISTMAS** in a couple days!! Mike and I both just recovered from the awful stomach virus floating around. If you haven't gotten it yet...BEWARE!

Sophie is still growing and according to the books should be about 4lbs now. Her heart-rate is 149bpm as of our last Doctor visit. I've stayed stretched at 35 1/2 inches and weigh in at 132lbs. She seems to know things are becoming a bit too tight these days and tries very hard to kick through my stomach wall. No luck yet...but some days I think she could be successful. 34 weeks today!!

We want to wish everyone reading a Merry Christmas!! Lots of love and safe travels!!

Sophie Bear...

Second sonogram yesterday and our little squished princess is as cute as can be, chunky cheeks and all. She weighs in at 3.13lbs and looks nothing like either Mike or I, with her flat nose and bubbly lips.

Here's her glamour shot at 7 1/2 months.

Only nine weeks or less to go. I now weigh in at 130lbs and have grown up another inch to 35 1/2. Doctor says everything is normal…my tummy measured perfectly and Sophie’s heart-rate is right on track. The nurse yesterday did a lot of measuring and checking of all vitals…PERFECTLY NORMAL. We’re so lucky this has been such an easy process. What a breeze…or should I not speak to soon before the actual delivery? Humm…better take that back for now!

Happy Friday to all! Have a great weekend!

Shower and Updates...

Twenty-nine weeks tomorrow and Sophie is sure getting restless in there. [Or maybe that's just when I'm trying to sleep] Any who - Just weighed in at 126.4 so pretty steady from last post and my belly is now 34 1/2 inches BIG. So we're still s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g!! New craving this month...ROOT-BEER!

Here's a tummy picture Mike took late last week.

Many, many thanks are certainly sent out to all our friends and family for a wonderful shower given to us in Midland last weekend, November 8th. We received so many wonderful and useful gifts and really enjoyed catching up with everyone, more importantly.

Check out our cute and DELICIOUS cake...

Lots of love to all!! Have a great week!

Lovely Day...

If you read my last entry on Tuesday you'll know that I had my ever-so-fun glucose test yesterday. Boy, was that a dreadful morning!! I am petrified of needles so the nurse laid me down to draw the first round from my scrawny arm. I then had to drink pure orange sugar water, wait an entire hour then get stabbed again. [yes, "stabbed" which was an experience all on its own] All the while not being able to eat a darn thing until the screening was over! Gee whiz! You'll all be relieved to know that I made it through, nonetheless! I know, I know...I'm a total weenie, just ask Mike ;)

Sophie's heart-rate increased this visit to 153bpm which is still in the normal range. My weight, honestly, fluctuates during the day but this afternoon I was right at 127lbs and my watermelon tummy is now at 34 1/4 inches, which is well noticeable!! We start to visit the Doc every two weeks now and Dr. Lawrence informed me, again, yesterday that he thinks she will arrive in January rather than early February. So Jen...you might get your birthday wish afterall!

Speaking of Jen...I'm not sure everyone is aware but a **CONGRATULATIONS** are definitely in order to my future brother-in-law for popping the infamous question to the greatest girl in the world...My Sister! Happy Engagement and Congrats to you both!! We love you!!

Hope everyone has a super fabulous weekend! GO RED RAIDERS!!

Lots to fill in...

Today marks week 27 and I still can't believe we are already at this point. Sophie has been moving around more than ever although, I'm the only one that can feel her most days. She has this "sense" when someone puts their hand to my belly so she stops moving...figures!

Sophie received her first pair of shoes a few weeks ago from the ever so sweet Grandma Becky in North Carolina...

She's already received so many gifts from family that I can hardly keep up! Grumps made sure she had her very first Raggedy Ann doll. Nanny made her a beautiful white knit blanket and Mom has contributed to her book collection, among many other things! Our little girl is so spoiled, I can only imagine how life will be with her here.

Doctor appointment tomorrow for the infamous glucose testing...which I hear is so much fun! I'll be sure to weigh in and measure up tomorrow so everyone can see where we're at! Then our very first baby shower on Saturday with all the Midland family. We're so excited and can't wait to see everyone!

Lots of love to everyone reading. Happy Tuesday!!
