The Fair...

We took Sophie to the South Plains Fair this year and she loved it. Started off watching the Monkey Show with several different monkey's being silly, some of which have been in movies. They would show off and Sophie thought they were hysterical...laughing all while eating her corny dog.

[Daphne stealing the "Boss" hat...]

We looked at all the animals...cows, rabbits, camels, watched the dog races [so funny btw] then caught a pony ride. Had another corny dog then it was off to play games. All the crazy carnies were out but they didn't scare off this girl...she was determined to win a prize. So a few bucks later...Mike paid off the carnie for a stuffed toy and called it quits with the games. Sophie picked an orange turtle that she LOVED so much so she had to sleep with it that night.

After that she rode the carousel with her Daddy then danced to all the surrounding music.

[Tickets in hand scouting out all the rides...]

Overall...three hours of pure fun for our little tyke...and Charlie slept the ENTIRE trip. She actually loves to be in the stroller and all the noise didn't bother her a bit.

Hope everyone is having a great week! Love!

Apple Butter Fest...

Not much really "happens" in Lubbock but when it does we make every effort to get Sophie to any event. We drove to Idalou to go apple picking and boy was this a fun experience for her. The day turned out to be HOT but we made the most of our two hour ordeal.

Sophie LOVED picking the apples and found so many she would say "there's a good one" to almost ANY apple. We could have ended up with dozens of apples [even the gross mushed ones on the ground] had we not said NO. It was great watching her though and Charlie just slept the entire stroller ride around. Sophie even attempted to feed the goats...they had eaten all day though and weren't exactly interested in being force fed, so we just pet them instead.

Oh and here's a picture [the only picture] I got at the BubbleFest last weekend. Sophie kinda woke up on the wrong side of the bed so she couldn't decide if we were staying or going. Needless to say, picture taking wasn't a happening thing. Little toot!

More to come soon! Love.

Three Weeks...

Charlie will be three weeks old tonight and already she seems huge compared to when she was born. Her two week checkup confirmed she is growing rapidly, gaining a pound and an inch. Having had to take her blood sugar level so often in the hospital, Charlie is a pro at giving blood and didn't even cry when the nurse pricked her heel for the PKU test, again. Tough chick!

She's awake more during the day looking around at all her surroundings and big sister, of course. She's even a talker...already! She sleeps pretty good during the night hours sometimes even letting me get an extra hour of sleep in!! [Sweet child!!] Her hair is still pretty blond but in certain lighting looks almost strawberry-blond like her sister. Only time will tell what color it will actually be!

She HATES hiccups and gets super frustrated when she gets them, usually 2-3 times a day. AND...she turned over on the couch for the first time yesterday. Probably an accident but we'll record it anyways! HA!

Sophie is adapting as good as expected with the new arrival. She, of course, is super sensitive and might be a little jealous not getting ALL the attention. She is still super sweet and LOVES to give Charlie kisses and dance with her. Sophie talks to her and tries to teach her anything and everything she knows. I think time will develop an inseparable bond between these two girls.

So finally...PICTURES!!! Sorry it took me so long, I really anticipated having more time...[yeah right!!].

Have a great weekend!! Love, love, love.

Charlie Anne...

Born August 12, 2011 weighing 6lbs. 2oz. and 18 1/2 inches long. She's perfect!!!! An entire month early but the only problems she had was learning how to eat. Sucking AND swallowing is a lot to learn for such a little person.

Sophie LOVES [understatement] her new little sister and can't give her enough kisses. And of course, Dad and Mom are super proud parents, yet again. Thanks to all our family for literally dropping everything to come to our rescue. We couldn't be more grateful!!

To be continued...

Joseph...

We started to watch my nephew Joseph this week. He's such a sweet baby and Sophie LOVES to take care of him.

Seems like we do everything twice around here since she has to be the one to nurture him. If his blanket falls off, she has to put it back on...if I do it she'll remove the blanket then put it back on herself. She's so hands on and so gentle...

It'll be interesting watching these little ones grow up together. Now we're just waiting for Charlie to join in the fun!

Love, love, love.

36 Weeks...

Only four weeks to go!! Had another check-up today and will continue to visit now once a week...so due time is definitely NEAR! I am dilated only at a 1 which sounds exciting and all but in reality, this news really means nothing. I've gained more weight now weighing in at 129 lbs. UGH! And...the discussion of arrival has finally started to be, well, discussed. Dr. Nonweiler-Parr believes induction is necessary should Charlie not arrive before her due date so I can say that we will have another baby girl on or before September 8th!! PHEW!

At this point...this pregnancy has been so incredibly different that I am SO READY to get this done. We had yet another scare, only today, with Charlie's heart rate. Listening to her heart beat super fast, skip to nothing, then start back slowly was so alarming my heart probably skipped a beat as well. Had a stress test done lasting a half hour only to promote the same results. I've been sent home this time but have been given details of when I need to head to the E.R. and will probably have the test repeated next week, maybe even up until she's born, just to be safe. She moves around so much and so aggressively that we pray her activeness is the cause for such an irregular beat. Sheesh...maybe she'll just come early so we can end all the madness!!!!

On a lighter note...she still measures perfectly and likes to kick her cousin Joseph when I'm hold him. I can almost predict the future with these two!! LOL!

Hope everyone is having a great week!! Love.

Two and a Half...

Wow...does six months sure pass you by?!?! Sophie is officially 2 1/2 years old and has grown an ENTIRE INCH in just six months. It's crazy everyone kept saying she looked bigger but I hadn't even noticed!! Again, we told her she wasn't allowed to grow anymore but she disagrees.

There's really SO MUCH to say about this gorgeous girl I can hardly write [or type] it all down without writing a novel. I'll try to sum her up as best I can so later she can read about how wonderful and cute she truly is.

1. One word...SASSY!! With hand gestures, the head tilt and the side-bumped hip action...
2. Loves hats and trying new ones on in the stores.
3. Must have an "Ou-wee cuber" for any boo-boo...followed by an Ice-ee. Both make anything feel better...
4. Wipes off your kisses.
5. Knows 12+ shapes. And loves to name them off flash cards so she can earn smarties [candy] or "farties" for being so smart.
6. Loves to run with her Daddy.
7. Thinks it's HYSTERICAL when Owen chases her string while she drags it around the house.
8. Yogurt and cereal...no other food?? No problem!
9. Loves her lightup stars Ladybug. Only on the color blue though.
10. Uses a phone car charge plug as a microphone.

11. Has a rather LARGE imagination.
12. Can do puzzles all by herself now.
13. Uses big words in the proper context...Like, "I'll PROBABLY have milk".
14. Likes to read books to you while showing you the pictures.
15. New favorite show...Bubble Guppies.
16. She has two molars coming in and likes to show off her "BIG" teeth.

Cutest Quotes...

1. After spilling a drink..."It happens Mom".
2. After telling her you love her..."Why you yubbin' me so much?"
3. "I don't yike this song"...[I laughed]..."Don't be funny."
4. "He's a maniac...he don't yissen."
5. "Can't talk Mom, I need batteries."
6. "Yet me think about it."
7. "Yeah...sure"
8. "Shew, that was cose one." [Phew that was a close one] while swiping her head with her hand

Gotta love this girl!! Have a good one.

Love, love, love.
