Four Years Old...

Sophie Leigh turns 4.  Wow...I can't even believe how time has flown by us.  I feel like we just brought her into this world and now we blink and she's four.   What a sweet, sensitive, strong willed, independent little lady we have.  She has such a great personality and is really the sweetest kid.  She gives the best hugs but sometimes she runs out of them.  She tells you she loves you out of the blue...sometimes more than the entire planet!  She is the best big sister...always checking on Charlie and making sure she has what she needs/wants.  She's not the type to be overpowering just because she's older either.  She truly attempts to teach Charlie and take care of her.

Currently, Sophie's favorite show [quite possibly] could be Doc McStuffins.  She likes to play doctor and has recently started interactive play with dolls/stuffies and princess figures.  She makes them say the sweetest things to each other...makes me smile. [But, of course, I'm not supposed to be listening]  If she catches me listening she says "Mawwwm!" or "Whaaat?".  She LOVES her stuffed animals.  This week her favorites are her new white tiger and her shaggy zebra.  They go everywhere with us...both of them...if one were to get left behind he/she would "be so sad".  And Charlie has to have a stuffed animal too.  Her imagination is...well...there really are no words to best describe it.  She's just so darn smart...the things she comes up with amaze us everyday.

Sophie loves music.  Bruno Mars, Fun., Taylor Swift...to name a few.  She loves to dance and sings constantly.  Favorite movies Fantastic Mr. Fox and the Madagascar movies.  She likes art and coloring pictures.  Her little people drawings are seriously the cutest.  Finger painting, crafts...she loves it all.

She's a tiny person weighing only 32 lbs and is 38 inches tall.  She loves neon.  Pink is her favorite color...and I believe she received every neon pair of Gap skinny jeans the store has to offer for her birthday...[Thank you!]  She couldn't be happier.  She loves her charm bracelets.  Dresses.  Likes her hair in a pony.  And is very picky about her shoes.  Currently we love our pink rain boots.  When she does find a shirt or outfit she likes she'll ask to wear it EVERYDAY.  What can I say...she knows exactly what she likes... down to the socks...stripey ones!

Swinging is a new found achievement.  She, too, loves the new play-set and the big-girl swing is definitely her favorite now that she knows how.  She has several neighborhood friends, Sophia, being her bestie, Valerie the older cooler one and Evan, the little cutie that is believed to have a crush on her. She loves playing with them all equally and would, if allowed, everyday.

Gosh...I know there's so much more to say here but I think my novel is enough, for now.  To be continued...

We love you Sophie Leigh...Little Peanut.

And everyone reading...Have a great week.

Birthday Girl at the Zoo...

Sophie would go to the Zoo everyday if given the opportunity. With everyone in town we decided a Zoo day was definitely in order for Birthday Girl.

We made sure to get there in time for the Giraffe feeding and both girls gave their lettuce to the animals with no hesitation.  So cute!!

Then we had to visit the cheetahs...a Sophie favorite.  And I have to admit, I love watching them too!

Here's a few pictures of our Zoo crew...Thanks to all our family for making Sophie's [actual] birthday a great day!!  I know she had fun and it wouldn't have been the same without you.

Three musketeers back together...
The Grandma's...and Sophie about to sneeze....

Lastly, back home so Rampa could push them on the swings.  Thanks Rampa!!

Happy 4th Birthday Peanut!!

Sophie's Bubble Party...

Sophie had her much-anticipated Bubble Birthday Party this weekend and I think it's safe to say she had a BLAST!  We started the long weekend off with a visit from Uncle Chachie, Auntie Jen and Cousin Joseph coming in on Thursday evening.  Mom and James then on Friday and Vicky in on Saturday.  FULL HOUSE!
Miss Birthday Girl...

Mr. Handsome himself...
I decided a popcorn bar might be a fun [easy] food to do for her party...afterall, I distinctly remember little Sophie eating popcorn until she became sick at her very first movie theatre visit to see Cars 2.  So, needless to say...someone likes popcorn, I couldn't go wrong here.

Cake pops are always a must for Miss Sophie.  She doesn't like cake but loves the cake/frosting combo I make in a cake pop.  Hey...she knows what she likes!

Then...lastly...the BUBBLES!!  We had bubble snake blowing, the human bubble pool, colored bubble art and numerous wands for blowing endless bubbles for two straight hours.  Not to mention the bubble machine...who knew this thing would create hours of fun.  Grab your margaritas Mommies!!

Charlie attempting a snake bubble too...

So much fun!  Thanks to everyone for coming to help celebrate our Little Peanut turning FOUR!

Love.

Seventeen Months...

Charlie, now 17 months and feisty-er than EVER!  She's all sass and attitude with an enormous sense of humor.  She does new crazy acts daily making us laugh every time.  She now not only screams when she wants something or has something she wants taken from her, but screams just to scream. She thinks she funny too...when you ask her to stop, she'll let out another scream then smile. Turkey!

New food items on the list of likes are oatmeal with honey.  And sisters favorite breakfast...the granola bar.  She took a recently liking to milk and no longer eats string cheese.

Charlie with no shoes on is just plain unheard of.  She doesn't care who's shoes...she MUST wear them.  She LOVES hats.  Clips in her hair last only a matter of seconds, as do headbands.  Heck, I'm lucky to get a hair brushing in before she's off to her next adventure.  She LOVES her smart-trike.  Likes to throw trash away...and other small toys.  And she likes picture books and her new Princess Castle.   Oh and she LOVES to slide on their new play set.  Up the stairs, down the slide, up the stairs, down the slide...

Hope to remember her weigh in and height check next month...I'll try to post!  To be continued...

Love to everyone reading!

Special "O" Delivery...

My Uncle O sent special packages to our girls for Christmas.  Of course, he was visiting back home and we didn't make it so we also missed out on seeing him.  Bummer.  Hopefully one of these years when Charlie is a bit bigger we can go visit him in the Big Apple!!

Anywho...I don't think words are necessary here...

An O hand-crafted cross necklace for each beauty...

Sophie and Charlie LOVE special packages.  They were SO HAPPY and loved all the gifts!!

Thanks O!!!  We love you!!

Merry Christmas!!!...

Girls woke up to eaten cookies and no chocolate milk.  Yes...Sophie says Santa prefers chocolate milk rather than regular.  She was TOTALLY right...go figure!  He also left his magic dust all over the table where he touched our plate and cup.  Awesome.

Sophie knows all too well how the gift opening works so Charlie caught on quickly.  So fun!!  Sophie received her [highly anticipated] Lego Friends Summer Riding Camp set and Charlie got [what sister said she wanted] her Lego Duplo Big Zoo set.  Thanks Santa!!  Among other items they also received a super sweet easel table and really cute stick horses.  What a year to remember!!

We decided we'd done enough traveling in the past few months so staying home was a no brainer.  And although we missed our families back home dearly, it was nice to relax for a year.  Ended up a couple neighbors had the same idea so we got together that evening for eats and drinks.  Kids had a blast playing together too.

Merry Christmas!!! Hope everyone had a great holiday!!

Love.

P.S. - Pixie, our cute little Elf, said her goodbyes Christmas Eve night.  She left a sweet note telling the girls they had been so good this year and ensured them Santa would be visiting.  She also made note that she wouldn't be needing her magic, just this one night, [since Santa would be picking her up on his sleigh] so they could say goodbye by kissing her cheek and giving her a hug.
