Mickey Land...

As many of you already know Sophie is a huge, HUGE Mickey Mouse fan. We decided to take her to Disney World in Orlando yesterday while Mike was there for work. After what seemed to be an entire morning getting onto Magic Kingdom, we started our hunt for MICKEY!!

Okay...so Magic Kingdom consists of Disney characters scattered about for you to wait [in a mile long line] to get your picture with. When you not waiting in these lines you can enjoy a $5.00 hotdog or peruse through endless shops filled with heaps of Mickey gear. Sounds fantastic, eh? Anywho - Sophie picked a Mickey cup that she didn't put down all day.

[Note: The tiny-est of snow globes will not make it past TSA thus really infuriating your husband.]

This is "OMG...Tigger and Pooh!"...

Standing in line to see Tigger and Pooh...

"Nope, just kidding...I don't really wanna see Tigger and Pooh"...

I must say the short skits put on by all the characters was really quite entertaining. And the street dancing was pretty fun as well. Sophie followed Mickey's dancing here and now knows the "stirring wheel" move.

Completely tuckered and having gotten a weeks worth workout, we are back home. Our Disney experience has filled us with great memories and Sophie couldn't have had a better time.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!! Lots of love to everyone reading!!

Fourteen Months...

Fastly approaching the terrible two stage, for sure. Sophie's got quite the "major-tude" but if you ask my parents they'd say..."Paybacks are a true blessing!!". She's definitely my child there's no denying that fact. But on another note, she's the most perfect child in the world. Mike and I really think we have the coolest kid. She rocks out to whatever tune is playing and her Daddy has even taught her how to play air-guitar!!! I mean, COME ON, that is freaking cool!!! [LOL!]

She loves "cool shoes" and "pretty" accessories. Bows, bracelets...necklaces. She loves to share anything and everything with you. Bath time doesn't come often enough and splashing is very entertaining...as well as eating bubbles. She has 12 TEETH!! She likes to open and close any cabinet or drawer that allows, take out all the contents only to put everything back in and do it all over again. Polka-dots are her FAVORITE! Mickey Mouse Clubhouse can fix any tantrum and playing in the dirt is super fun! She loves to give kisses and believe me we LOVE getting kisses!

She's so smart and is learning something new everyday. Not walking on her own yet but [with assistance] she'll walk around all day! She's very shy and loves to be held. And what a personality!! Always laughing, smiling and playing around. A curious little girl too...pointing and trying to see what you have. So there you have it...14 months and counting. Life's big gifts in a little package!

[This picture is for Uncle Davy. Thanks for letting Sophie play with Loosey!!]

Have a great week!! Love, love, love.

Happy Easter!!...

Hippity-Hoppity...Happy Easter Day!!

Sophie loved her Easter day today. So much so that she had to bring her Easter basket wherever we went. The egg hunt in our front yard was a total success!! Check her out picking up the eggs and putting them in her basket...almost as if she'd done this very routine for many years!! We're such proud parents!! What a cool chick!

Hope everyone had a fabulous day! Happy Easter!!

Meet Fin...

Sophie's always seemed to love animals. She can spot one from a mile away and makes sure you see it too. She loves to watch fish so we decided to take her to Petsmart to pick one of her very own.

Fin is our newest addition. Sophie loves to watch him swim and even goes as far as kissing him 'night-night". She taps on his tank to make him move and waves the second she sees him to say "Hi". So sweet to watch her in action...

Kisses

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! Hope you're all wearing green!! Love.

Thirteen Months...

Gosh...what can I say about our little Sophie girl?? What a hoot! She continues to make us laugh on a daily basis but nothing new there. She likes to hold silverware when eating and can use a fork if you spear the food for her...she's learning. She thinks its funny to spit her food out [the mischievous little laugh alone is hilarious] and has taken a liking to strawberries. The walker is NOT her friend but can get her places faster and is pretty fun to chase Mommy and Daddy with. She has 10 teeth!!! She likes to yell for her Daddy "Dah" from downstairs [while he's upstairs or in another room]. They have yelling conversations which is pretty cute. She gives kisses and likes to put her feet on the table. Yup...one of a kind, eh?

Watching her shows

So, we recently were in Lubbock to celebrate my sis's BIG DAY! Sophie was a flower girl and was super cute in her dress. She was a total champ walking down the isle rehearsal night but got a little scared come Wedding Day so, The Leary's walked down together. Jen was the most stunning bride I've ever seen...can't wait to post pictures when she gets them!! Congrats to you both!!! We love you!! [More to come...]

And to my beloved Aunt Susie...Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. May she rest in peace. We miss you.

Have a great week everyone. Love.

One Year Check-up...

Perfectly healthy...well, almost. Sophie has another ear infection and ROSEOLA!! Icky!! She's feeling much better now and is back to her old self...playing with her mounds of toys, stealing Sampson's toys and poking at Owen's teeth. She weighs only 20lbs and is 27 1/2 inches long. A petite little thing but her Doc thinks she might hit a growth spurt soon. First round of shots were given [the other two will be given at 15 months] and a CBC to check her blood count. Of course, this part of any doctors visit is least fun but she was all smiles when I pulled out a Nilla Wafer. POOF...No more tears! [for me too!]

No new major milestones to report since last post. We are working on sign language and have been for about a week. So far Sophie has learned the signs for "more, food, please and finished". She's got another tooth coming in so the total count is up to EIGHT already!! But don't go sticking your finger in her mouth to feel around for more...you may not get your finger back!! OUCH!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Love.

Happy Birthday!!!...

Princess Sophie turns ONE YEAR OLD!!!

Mickey CD

She opened lots of presents from all her family and friends. Then, of course, DEMOLISHED a cupcake with lots of icing!! Our fellow LUBBOCK-ite friends helped sing and blow out her candle. Thanks to everyone for calling to wish her a Happy Birthday and bringing/sending all the wonderful gifts. We can't thank everyone enough for all you do to help make the day of our little girl.
