It's a GIRL!!!

Yup, another girl for the Leary family. Charlie Anne weighs 14 ounces at just 5 months. She's perfectly healthy and growing at a normal rate and she couldn't be more loved, already. Sophie has wanted a "sisser" since the moment we found out we were pregnant and she couldn't be happier. She LOVES looking at the sonogram pictures saying "so tute" and was so amazed when she got to hear the heartbeat for the first time.

Funny how each baby IS TOTALLY different. I've been so sick with this one and she moves around CONSTANTLY as if my lower abdomen were a pinball machine. If that's any indication of how she's going to be when she's brought into this world...YIKES! More to come...

Happy Monday!! Love.

Happy Easter!!...

I know...it's been many weeks and I haven't posted a single thing. I must admit this second baby has given me "heck" [no excuses] but I promise to be more on my game in the coming months.

So...where to start? Beginning of the month? Ok.

We started April off at Sesame Street Live. Sophie was very excited to see Elmo...until the lights went out and the characters started singing and dancing. She started pointing in the direction of the doors and said "Go Home!!". The first half she basically sat there then, intermission came and the second half was all singing and dancing, go figure.

On to Easter week...

Sophie had a super fun Easter Egg hunt last Wednesday with her little friends. So much fun and she LOVED playing with all the little peeps. Thanks again to the McQuerry Family for hosting such a fun evening!!

[Anna and Nate]

Can't have Easter without coloring eggs!! Thanks Aunt Jane for coming to color eggs with us Friday!

[Sophie's first colored egg]

And, lastly...EASTER!! Sophie was shocked to find the Easter Bunny had left her a bucket of goodies on the table where she eats breakfast. Then, he hid eggs all over the front yard!! Silly Easter Bunny...

[Sophie's very own butterfly in a jar...don't worry, it flys but only by batteries]

Hope there are enough pictures to update everyone, for now. Easter was a gorgeous day and we had a great time with all the family. We hope everyone reading had a fabulous holiday as well. Happy Birthday Pop-Pop!!

Love, love, love!!

Austin Trip...

We arrived home today from our visit to Austin for "Grandma's" birthday. And, of course, I bring my camera but don't take NEARLY as many pictures as I'd hoped. We had a great time eating our lives away and had some of the greatest food!! My new favorite...The Mighty Cone. WOW...who knew a trailer could create such a great thing?!?! Trailer food is AWESOME!!

Sophie was a total trooper this trip barely sleeping and loving the beautiful weather outside. We got to see the bats [or a "few" compared to how many will appear in the coming weeks] and BEAVERS!!! Beavers...in Austin?!??! Okay, so maybe they were more like water rats but it was fun listening to and watching the other out-of-towners snapping pics of "beavers" in the river. [Come on Honey...it was a little funny.]

Let's see...so...yeah, we pretty much just ate. Shopped the outlet malls in San Marcos and drove around campus to see where Daddy went to college. Sophie tried on her first pair of cowgirl boots, which she showed off to her Daddy. [Then we threw a fit because we didn't want to take them off] Ate some more...slept, took some crazy fun pictures in vintage clothes [which we can't wait to see]. Walked around the Capital Building, saw the HUGE "Teacher Rally" march to the Capital in protest of the budget cuts, and even saw numerous trees wrapped in crocheted...umm...socks!??! It was great!!

Grandma, thanks for letting us share your special day with you. And thanks for driving us all around town!!! We had more fun and truly needed the relaxation. [Sorry I tried to get us murdered] We love you and hope you had a great birthday weekend!!

Lauren, thanks for spending your Saturday afternoon and evening with us. Pizza was AMAZING and the company was even better! Safe travels home for Easter!

Love, love, love!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!...

Hope everyone was feeling LOVE in the air!!

Sophie had a fabulous day and was THE VALENTINE to many, many people. We made homemade Valentine's cards and ate the yummy treats everyone sent over. [yes, me too!!] AND played with the two HUGE bears she got from Daddy and Chachie and Auntie Jen.

It was a great day. Love, love, love!!

Two Years Old...

I almost want to cry...or wait...I am crying...SHEESH! [Darn hormones] Sophie is two years old today and it's been the greatest two years of our lives [Mike's too, he told me so]. She is truly an angel and has developed the most loving and addictive personality. You can't help but want to watch her and be in her presence. Her smile melts the heart. And those eyes are killer. So sweet, so loving and just adorable. Smart as a whip, super independent and determined.

Lately she's become, can I say it??...MORE girlie. She puts on her own shoes. She LOVES the sunglasses Jen and Chachie got her for her birthday and now tells you how she wants to wear her hair. She's recently become fascinated with being naked and runs around dancing while her music plays. Yup, naked. We think its hilarious now but I can see us in a few more months begging her to keep her clothes on in mixed company.

She makes the funniest faces. Loves broccoli...?!?!? M&Ms or "num-nums" are so tasty and fruit, any fruit, can and will be eaten all throughout the day. She likes to ride her cars around the house with Dad. She loves trains or "choo-choos" and her train set. She loves coloring and blocks. LOVES bouncy balls. Balloons. What else can we ask for?? She's our perfect little Princess.

Thanks to everyone in our lives who have contributed to Sophie's happiness. We feel that everyone plays an important role in a child's life and we believe our little one has absolutely NO COMPLAINTS!! [just don't ask us again when she turns 13]

Lots of love, always, to all our family and friends!

P.S. - Yes, rumors are true. Baby Leary number 2 is due September 8th. :)

Happy Birthday Sophie!!!....

We celebrated Sophie's 2nd birthday last weekend with all the family. It was PERFECT weather and we actually BBQ'd outside. Sophie was showered with gifts [never a doubt] and was totally overwhelmed by all the attention.

And even after all the food, ice cream cake and gifts...the BALLOONS were [by far] Sophie's favorite item of the day.

Then, on to Sophie's other birthday party [on her actual birthday] this evening. Weather has been terrible with temperatures in the single digits and feeling in the negatives. But nevertheless, with "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" theme, we had fun watching all Sophie's little friends run and play, screaming their heads off. I think it's safe to say that all the kids would sleep pretty well tonight, if they hadn't fallen asleep on the way home.

We had so much fun with everyone here [both parties]. Thanks to everyone for coming to help celebrate our little Sophie girls birthday, it wouldn't have been the same without you. Have a great weekend.

Love, love, love.
