Happy St. Patty's Day!!...

It’s St. Patrick’s Day and a tiny [or so we think] Leprechaun came to visit.  The girls woke to coins all down the stair steps…

Lucky Charms and green milk for breakfast…

And a yummy rainbow treat!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

Nineteen Months...

Gosh….I am SO BEHIND on this blogging business!  Must get in a better blog routine already…Did I happen to mention moving totally kills any routine you may have been in?  Or is that just me?  Either way…Charlie is 19 months.  Yup…time still continues even if you can’t fine time to post.  Not fair.

So…Charlie’s OFFICIAL first word [you know, the word EVERYONE can understand her say??] is “STINKY”.  She says it more like “stink-ah” but that doesn’t even matter…everyone still gets what message she’s relaying.  Nice.  A week later she was saying “Dah-dee”…Daddy…two syllables?!?!?!  WOW!!  [Proud Parent moment]

New favorite…peanut butter.

Charlie now is a climber.  She attempts to climb everything but really her new found achievement has only gotten her on the couch.  Its incredibly slick so this actually took some work.  And she loves to jump…[really she only ends up on her tippy-toes but don’t tell her that].

So cute.  So sweet.

Love, love, love.

Pop-Pop Family Visit...

First weekend during Spring Break we had MY DADDY visit.  It’s funny how little girls are always “Daddy’s girls” even when they are grown, married and have kids of their own.  It was great to have him, my second Mommy and little bros here for a few days.  They are [as are the rest of our family back home] missed dearly.

Charlie and her Pop-Pop...
To start off the weekend we had to visit the Johnson Space Center.  Very cool place.  I can’t even begin to describe how enormous Saturn V was.  Wow.

And…no one can visit us here in Houston, thus far, without the girls taking them to the Houston Zoo.  Come on…who doesn’t like going to the Zoo?!?!?!

Okay...and I can't even believe I don't have more pictures...Holy Geez!  I don't have a single photo of Grandma!!  [Julie, did you do that on purpose?]

Thanks again for visiting us.  We had a great time and I know the girls did too!!  Maybe we can try Pappadeaux next time?!?!  LOL!!

Love.

Sophie's New Bike...

Sophie purchased her very own big[ger] girl bike.  She’d eyed this bike in the newest Academy ad and even cut out the picture to save.  Mike and I were waiting for a major milestone or event to get it for her but she started counting money one day and decided she wanted to buy a big girl bike and “give the rest to other kids who didn’t have any money”.  [Honest…these were her own words…she even considered not buying the bike and donating her entire piggybank] Behind all that attitude and sass there is, most definitely, the biggest heart. [Sigh]

After finally finding the right one, Daddy assembled and she tested…

Slow and steady!!  Love you’re new wheels Princess!!

Eighteen Months...

Eighteen months already here.  Charlie literally learns something new weekly, if not, daily.  Its funny you totally forget this process and how fast pace it moves once they’re bigger.  They look so different each month…longer hair, more teeth, not-so-chunky cheeks.  Charlie’s 18 month check-up confirmed she’s growning…in the 74th percentile!!  She’s 26 pounds and 33 inches tall.  So, yeah…even having been born a preemie, this girl had no problems getting right back on track.

Killer blue eyes...
Her new favorite is chocolate milk.  LOVE the chocolate milk…or really anything chocolate.  Oh wait!!  And Ramen Noodles.  This kid can eat her body weight in Ramen Noodles.

New words are “Whoa” and “Buh-dee” for birdie.  She says “whoa” for so many things…swinging high, almost falling, etc.  And birds are pointed out wherever we are, if noticed.  She makes growling noises for different animals and she can point out numerous body parts when asked.  [ears, nose, cheeks, eyes, toes, teeth, hair and belly button, to be exact]  So cute!!

Another super cute thing Charlie now does [thanks to Sister] is wrap up her baby dolls.  She’ll even pat their backs too to put them to sleep.  Sweet girls taking care of their babies.  She likes reading books also but she has to sit in your lap to do so.  Of course, she gets tired of any one book a few pages in.

Well, nineteen months don’t come too soon.  Ugh!

Love to everyone reading.

Breckenridge Visit...

Tyson Lee made it here a week ago so after all the family left we decided to make it short trip to Breckenridge to meet the new Hope addition.  So cute and super tiny.  Really…I think Charlie is tiny until she’s up against a newborn…then we are quickly brought back to reality…our babies are not longer babies. Sniffle.

All the cousins we’re together so we had to do something fun in preparation for Valentine’s Day.  Cookies are never turned away so we made pink heart sugar cookies and let the little tykes decorate.  Very…ummm…creative!

First Day of School...

Sophie's first day of school.  [sniffle, sniffle]  I can't say she is thrilled about going to school but we had to start somewhere so she'll be attending CrossPoint Christian School on Tuesdays and Thursday for the remainder of [their] school year.  We were lucky enough to get right in being on the waiting list for no more than a week.

Mike and I took her in to tour the school and it is truly UNBELIEVABLE.  The staff are all super friendly and the kids looked so happy.  Super clean [pretty new] and really a great experience from the moment we walked in.

Okay...so back to the "First Day".  I don't actually have a picture of her and the first day since she was very nervous and cried from the moment she woke up.  We stayed with her during devotions which is when they pray, sing a worship song and do annoucements then walked her to her classroom where  the complete melt down occured.  Poor thing...I felt horrible.  Mike and I both cried.  But...on the drive home we got a call from the administrator saying she cried for mere minutes then started to play.  I picked her up and she was super confident.  A new little woman...she made a friend named Olivia and had a great day.  SUCCESS!!

Here she is on the second day of school...

We're so proud of you Sophie Leigh.

Love, love, love.
