I Heart NYC...

Starting our road trip off Saturday, driving to Washington D.C., the weather was terribly cold and rainy. Didn't get to do much sightseeing but were able to manage a glimpse of the White House and some exploration of the National Air and Space Museum. Which, by-the-way, is super cool if you're into that type of history. We ended our evening eating at the Dancing Crab where "crab crackers" and piles of crab were given to each table. Sophie most enjoyed her cracker and got a taste of Eastern crab.

Off to New York City Sunday...
Mike had to work during the day and Sophie and I got to hang out with Uncle O. After being showered with tons of toys we took on THE CITY. Shopping wasn't exactly first priority on Sophie's list so we decided to walk through Central Park. May I say what an amazing creation they've got there?!? So BEAUTIFUL and PEACEFUL!! Met up with Daddy and ate a large portion of italian at Carmine's. [AWESOME food!!] Tuesday we went back to The Park [yup...it's really that great] to check out the Central Park Zoo. Sophie had a TOTAL BLAST here checking out all the animals. She especially LOVED the Penguins. Too much fun!!

Thanks to "O" for all the time spent with us and all the toys!! Hope everyone is doing great and gearing up for HALLOWEEN!!! Love.

Special Delivery...

UPS delivered a special box addressed to Sophie yesterday. I think the picture will express how excited she was about her package and she waited patiently for Daddy to open it for her. So cute to watch...

It's a SNOOPY!

And...Owen the ribbon thief.

Thanks GGB for making Sophie's DAY! Love you and see you SO SOON!!

Eight Months...

Sophie has turned yet another month old this October. Her [at home] weight is 18.8 lbs. which clearly reflects what a great eater our tyke is. She got her first taste of the meat food group this week. We can add turkey to the list of "eats"! Clapping hands is her new favorite achievement and we're working on waving "bye-bye". She can do the motion [raising her arms] for "touchdown", so cute, and suddenly loves her Baby Genius activity jumper. She's a jumping MANIAC!! Still not crawling...although she spends much more time on her belly so we're thinking it's right around the corner! Baby proofing house is in PROGRESS!

We celebrated Mike's 33rd birthday this past weekend. Happy Birthday Daddy!!

And - Mrs. Hope came to town to watch our Sophie girl while Mike and I enjoyed a "date night" watching the U2 360 concert in Raleigh. AWESOME experience!! Thanks again Vicky for letting us have an unforgettable night together. Sophie had a BLAST too!

Lastly - A few photo's to keep you updated...

Seven Months...

Sophie has turned 7 months old. No major milestones to report...she loves animals, loves to dance and is a total home body. She is happy almost ALL the time, smiling and laughing. She scrunches her nose now when smiling and makes everyone laugh. Her hair is starting to thicken so her crazy, spike hair is slowly fading. So sad...it's her signature look!!

We finally found an adirondack chair to match ours. She's such a big girl...or acts like one anyway. Very independent and knows what she wants, for sure!

Gosh...seven months. Where does the time go?!?! It's hard to believe but life with little Sophie girl is truly PRICELESS!!

Have a fabulous weekend!! Happy Friday!!

On the plane again...

We just arrived home last night from a week long family visit in Midland. Sophie made so many friends on the many planes we flew, even smiled for a picture the flight attendant asked for. She was a big hit and was loving every minute of attention. Such a show off but too cute!!

Plane Ride

Sophie had a blast with Grumps and Memaw, and don't forget her new friend, Buster.

Poolside with Buster

Playtime with Grumps

Her first swimming experience and playtime with cousins left sleep last on the list of things to do.
