Sophie Says...

New series I have to start to remember all the HILARIOUS things our Sophie says...

Sophie....   "Mom I have freakles..." [as she's in the bathroom on the potty]
Mommy....   "I know, Mom has freakles too, aren't the great?!?!  Freakles are AWESOME!"
Sophie...   "No they are not. I not want freakles."
Mommy...   "Well shucks....Mom wanted to be awesome. We could be awesome together!"
Sophie...   "MOM...I not talking about you.  I not want freakles."

Point well taken...she is TOTALLY her own person.

Nine Months...

Charlie girl Annie as Sophie calls her. She's nine months and she's still not interested in turning over or crawling but loves to stand. She's taken a recent liking to the activity jumper and likes to lay on her back and reach for toys overhead. So...with this being said, there's hope for future movement. She has 3 teeth! Two on the bottom and one "stray" randomly popped out on top. Not one of the front two but the one right next to a front tooth...weird. Her gums are super swollen up top so I'm thinking she's cutting all four upper teeth. And she's a little grouchy so hopefully they come out SOON!

She likes ice cream...not the first bite, it's a little surprising but once she gets the flavor she's like a baby bird.  Butternut squash and apple sauce is another new liking.  No more sink baths...we now LOVE splashing in the bathtub with sis.  And she's been swimming for the first time.

Hair is growing just barely but I'd venture to guess she's getting taller, and she's in 12-18 month clothes so I know she's packing the L.B.'s.  We'll see at her checkup in a week.

Happy NINE months Little Bit!!

Have a great day everyone reading! Love.

Eight Months...

Charlie turned eight months a several days ago. She's our little beam of sunshine from the moment she wakes up. She's our social butterfly making everyone "oooh and ahh" over her cuteness and bashful smile wherever we go. Always happy with a TINY temper when she doesn't get everything she wants.
She's taken a fascination with hair. Mainly just pulling it right out of your head...poor Sophie. She's still trying so hard to open her hands to clap but can do the motion with fists. Loves music and her My First Madame Alexander doll [Thank you Nanny]. She even pats her baby when you tell her "Aww baby". [so cute]
She's eating SOLID foods! So far just rice cereal and oatmeal...go figure. She eats one of the two in her bottle everyday but at least she's getting the hang of a spoon. And rice COOKIES! Loving cookies. Not sure her weight but we know FOR SURE she's growing, little tank. She's a supported stander and LOVES her Daddy. Total. Daddy's. Girl.
So...eight months in a nutshell. Sheesh...wait, eight months, already. [sigh] Love, love, love.

Happy Easter!!!...

Easter Sunday...what fun! The girls woke this morning to Easter Bunny tracks and jellybean droppings. The bunny left a bucket with a single Easter egg in it on the breakfast table. Sophie opened the egg to find a picture clue and candy. [Each egg had candy and a printed picture as a clue to find the next egg.] Once she figured out where each picture item was located in the house she'd say "Come on guys!" and take us to the next egg. Super cute!!

[Bunny tracks...]

[Jellybean trail...]

Charlie was moreso along for the ride not really knowing what the heck was going on. She thought Sophie was pretty funny running around finding all the hidden eggs and guessing the clues. She just wanted to play [or chew on] the plastic eggs.

In the end, of course, the clues lead to their Easter buckets.

We went to church and had lunch with my family. Then, ran over to Pa and Ram's to show off our Easter outfits. Very relaxing day. Hope everyone had a great day as well.

[Only picture I got (on my phone) of the girls in their Easter gear...]

And here are the sock bunnies I made them this year. They were supposed to go in their buckets too but someone woke from her nap early and caught me making them. So, needless to say, they received their bunnies a few days early.

Happy Easter!!

Love, love, love.

Seven Months...

Charlie is 7 whole months today. Days are literally flying by and she's already sitting up on her own. Of course, she falls over every once in a while [Note to self...always create pillow barrier around her when she's sitting on the floor; to avoid creating huge knot on head] but for the most part she can sit all by herself.

She cut her first two teeth. Bottom two nonetheless and LOVES biting on things. Is almost passed the spit-up days [unless I say this, then she spits-up all day long]. Still not interested in solid food eating but LOVES oatmeal mixed in her bottle of formula. She won't even drink straight formula anymore nor will she drink anything that is not at the proper temperature. Spoiled little tyke!

She has taken an enormous liking to the swing out back. And laughs hysterically when Sophie bounces us on the trampoline. She likes the sandbox and feeling the sand in her hands [and mouth, who am I kidding?]. She'll stop wherever she is doing to listen and watch Mickey Mouse's Hot Dog song. She's a sleep fighter. Talks and screams really LOUD! And has sudden stranger anxiety.

Our sweet, HAPPY-ALL-THE-TIME "Little BIt".

[And a cute picture of the Three Musketeers...]

Love to everyone reading! Have a great week.

Six Months...

Growing, growing. Charlie had her 6 month checkup today. She's been pretty sick these last few days with a terrible cough and today seems to be the worse. Doctor confirmed it was just a cold so he proceeded with her vaccines. It was a tough morning for our Little Bit. This afternoon she took a turn for the worst and didn't want to be put down. She would fall asleep in my arms and cough every 5 seconds. Her eyes were super heavy and swollen along with fever and running nose. She hasn't eaten all day and gags on any sort of syringe even near her mouth. Joy. I must admit...I hate winter sickness!!

[Getting sick...]

[Sister got it too...]

On a lighter note...She weighs 17.7 pounds and now measures 26 inches. Laughs and smiles all the time, even today being so sick she popped out a few smiles past those droopy eyes. She hasn't picked up on solid food eating. We've tried a few times but she just lets it hang out in her open mouth before spitting it all out. We may wait a few more months and try again.

[Feeling the oatmeal in her mouth...]

She has the biggest, brightest, blue eyes that sort of twinkle when you look at her. Is covered in her own drool all day long. Teeth are literally days away...we can see the white line broadcasting where they will soon take place. She loves to sit in her bebepod chair and gather toys around her. And she absolutely adores her Sophie girl.

Just born yesterday...six months today. Gee whiz.

Happy reading. Love.

Tangled Party...

Sophie decided she wanted a Tangled themed birthday party after seeing the party favors and such at ToysRUs one day. So knowing how much she actually LOVES this movie I decided to get as creative as I could to make her party the best one yet. Afterall, she turned 3 and birthdays are kind of a big deal from this point forward [or at least until your 21, eh?].

We started off with our favor bags in which all the kiddos created their own favors to bring home. We colored Flynn Rider noses on wanted posters, made Pascal blowers, colored paper lanterns and popped balloons filled with candy and stickers. Sophie picked out chalk and rubber ducks as random favors to add to each bag. It was a little too chilly outside to do sidewalk chalk like Rapunzel did in the movie, so we sent the chalk home with everyone for later. And the rubber ducks were added to resemble the Snuggly Duckling pub, where Flynn Rider took Rapunzel in the attempt to scare her.

[The Pascal blower...being played with the following day.]

I put out a tray of various snacks to be placed on skewers as "Tower Kebabos" before we all mowed down hotdogs and chips.

The Princess opened all her gifts. Then we sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed eating her donut tower cake. I also made jello with orange boats, an idea I found online. We were going to do a balloon release outside [my safe "floating lanterns"] with LED lite balloons but it never got dark enough so all the kids ran upstairs to Sophie's room [the darkest room in the house] to see their glowing balloons. They all got to take one home instead so no one was unhappy in the end.

[The tower cake...]

[Charlie enjoying her balloon...]

I'm bummed I didn't take more pictures of all the decorations. My Hubby and Mom were VERY helpful in creating this magical day. Mom and I made Rapunzel's braided hair out of yellow yard for the front door. And my hubby hung her "magical glowing hair" [white christmas lights] on the tree. 3D Pascals [in every color] where hidden about the house for the kids to hunt and Wanted Flynn Rider posters were on the door and tree. SO FUN!

Thanks to everyone, friends and family, for celebrating Sophie's special day with us. Love, love, love.
