Happy Halloween!!...

We are finally somewhat settled in our new home and got the girls out to trick-or-treat.  What an awesome neighborhood we have here.  The girls had a great time and we met so many sweet people.

Daddy's girls...

Happy Halloween to everyone reading...Hope you had a great holiday!!

Fourteen Months...

Good gosh..moving really STINKS!  It's like an entire month went by and now Charlie's another month old.  She's walking around EVERYWHERE now and is quite the little explorer.  Her most recent accomplishment is bending at her knees to pick up something then getting back to standing position without holding on.  She LOVES to sport her new sparkly pink Toms and will actually bring them to you to put on, even if she's in her pjam's.  She likes to step on things, which is always a disaster waiting to happen since she falls OFTEN.  She probably hits her head no less than 5 times a week and just recently fell and bit into her top lip.  She's a tough cookie though...still moving.  Sheesh!

She loves to get dirty.  Guess we should have caught on to that months ago when she started eating food.  She is by far the messiest eater, EVER.  And picky too.  She eats mac and cheese, chicken sticks, and fruit.  That's about it.  Oh and...BANANAS!!

Banana cheeks!
She talks more now and expresses her frustrations with a limp-bone tantrum.  Oh and add on the ear piercing scream...It's great.  She's definitely an independent little person at 14 months.  She loves to laugh and LOVES to follow her sister around.  Sophie sister is THE COOLEST.  She likes to bang on things.  Climb on the couch.  Flip through books.  Dance, especially to the Fresh Beat Band music commercials and Taylor Swift.

She snuggles and gives kisses.  Waves and can show you her belly when asked.  She's also cutting one [maybe even both] of her eye teeth.  So she'll have 10 teeth soon!

Such a sweet little person.

Love, love, love.

Thirteen Months...

Charlie turned 13 months.  Seems like we just celebrated a birthday and now that's come and gone.  So sad.  She's now getting braver and walking longer distances, as long as there's a destination.  From the couch to the fireplace, from one chair to another.  She looks so proud of herself too.

One of her favorite TV shows is Yo Gabba Gabba...she can point out the characters just about anywhere we go but her favorite is Brobee.  Sophie gave her a tiny Brobee beanie baby and she hugs it constantly.  She also likes Blues Clues.  And her baby Stella doll gets many hugs as well.

She's been saying "Dah' for awhile but we don't think there's really any true meaning behind it.  Just another way to communicate, possibly.  With that being say, her first word is DEFINITELY..."Uh Oh!"  [Totally matches her personality, by-the-way] So super cute when she says it too...with her "Oh" face all puckered.

She's growing like a weed.  Already in 12-18 month clothes!!  She might actually be taller than Sophie soon!  LOL.

On another note...we're moving.  Yes, again.  We decided to place our house on the market ASAP because Mike was taking a new job at Insight, in Houston.  Makes sense, right?  Gee whiz...three days later, 4 offers...house sold for over asking price.  So we're out in 30 days.  Packing starts, UGH!

Have a great day.

Sophie Leigh...

It's been a very long while since I posted Sophie updates.  She's now 3 1/2 years old, weighs 28 lbs and measures 37 inches tall.  Still a little shrimp but a gorgeous one! Her eyes are big and blue with super long lashes.  And that hair...strains of the most beautiful shades of red and blond I've ever seen.

She's got quite the vocabulary.  Some of her favorites words to date are "Actually, Oh my Gosh!, and Yuck!" but she attempts to use much bigger words like "Probably" and "Freaking ...and uses them in the correct context like "Freaking backpack!".  Pretty impressive!  She likes to color/paint and is pretty good about staying inside the lines.  Can cut very well with toddler scissors.  She can count to nearly 25 every time asked and knows her alphabet. [Except we're working on T, U, V...rather than T, 2, B]

She LOVES animals still and tells us she wants to go to Africa to hug and pet a zebra.  She also loves watching the National Geographic shows and documentaries about animals.  She wants to swim with the whales and claims she can talk whale language.  [Convincing when she tries too]  She likes going on scavenger hunts for bugs like worms, snails, roly-poly's and ladybugs.  Being outside is almost a must unless its just too hot...then she'll request to go inside all on her own.  Riding her bike is a big, somewhat recent, accomplishment that she LOVES doing. And she likes jumping on the trampoline, playing in the sandbox and swimming.

She's not much into hats and sunglasses like long ago.  She's more into headbands now but not the girly type you'd think she be into...she likes to wear them more warrior style around her forehead.  Still likes shoes especially jellies [and the smell of them...weird.].  Legos are a new found favorite thanks to Uncles JM and Davy.  And KungFu Panda is her favorite movie to date.  Of course she likes Horton Hears a Who and The Lorax too. [Whoa...that sounds so Seuss-y!!]

LOVES ranch on anything and everything.  Ice cream is preferred over any cake or cookies.  And she likes to cut food with her "big girl knife".

MUSIC and DANCING!  Pete the Cat books.  D.R.E.S.S.E.S...love tutu's and dresses.  She's just a tiny bit prissy and a totally girly-girl with a touch of a sensitive and shy side.  She LOVES her "Charlie Girl Annie" and thinks being a big sister is pretty awesome.  So much so...she wants another sister.

Now...I have to mention Blue Guy.  He's a very important piece to Sophie's pretend world and I'd be a fool to ever forget him years down the road but just in case.  Meet Blue Guy...yeah I know we can't see him either.  I think he's Sophie's BFF who, when holding her hand, is very small maybe about a foot tall.?  He drives a blue car with polka-dots and has the same exact house and room as her.  He's married to Purple Guy [whom is actually a girl].  They have cousins, sometimes friends, named White Guy, Green Guy, and Yellow Guy.  Blue Guy does all kinds of silly things that Sophie reenacts for us...like jumping on the couch or dancing crazy.  He lives far away and is from Africa.  He's been everywhere including swimming with the whales.  Pretty cool dude, eh?

Well...to make a long story very short...this is our girl.  She is such a blessing and we love her so much more everyday.  What a sweet little person with an enormous heart.  Life can't get any better.

Love, love, love.

One Year...

It's finally happened.  Charlie is officially one year old.  [Sigh]  What another unique child we've created, Mike and I.  She's got to be the happiest tyke...all smiles and loves to laugh.  She's got an independent side and loves to explore.

Her year check-up today shows she weighs 21lbs and measures 30 inches long.

Everything goes in her mouth...EVERYTHING!  She likes to think she's a big girl and eat all food we eat.  Forget about that stuff called baby food...Icky.  She's the messiest eater but loves blueberry waffles and peaches.  Kinda might think about liking cinnamon carrots and still LOVES bananas.

She's still a butt-scooter and gets around very well.  She can roll over and get herself back to sitting-mode, which is new.  And she's taken 7 steps on her own before falling into someone's arms.  Pretty good...I'd suspect she'll be a toddler in the next few months.  She gives kisses...open mouth kisses but they're still sweet.  Can wave "Hi" and "Bye".  Pulls herself up in the crib and waits for you to get her.  Points with her tiny pointer-finger [a motion we know all to well with sister Sophie].  And likes to watch Yo Gabba Gabba and Blues Clues.

She's a dancer and gets so excited about dancing that she makes herself laugh.  She hates getting dressed or getting a diaper change.  Loves bath-time.  She thinks her sister is so funny and loves to watch her every move.  And...she's still a Daddy's girl.

Pure sweetness.  Happy Birthday Charlie Anne.

Love to everyone reading!

Happy Birthday [Party]!!!...

We celebrated Charlie's birthday this past weekend with family and friends since we'll be out of town on her actual birthday.  I decided this time around that the girls have really entirely too many toys so I went with a "library" party.  And since we LOVE Dr. Seuss I did all the decoration in a Dr. Seuss theme.  Super fun and so cute!

[Book signing table...]
[Horton and all the tiny specks...]
[I wrapped mini Dr. Seuss board books as favors...]

[Lorax lollipop mustaches...makes for great pictures!!!...]
[Jello and whipped cream parfaits...]
[Strawberry and marshmallow skewers as Cats Hat...]

[Thanks to my sis for making awesome green deviled eggs that we tops with ham...]

[And raspberry lemonade as the pink yink ink drink....]

Birthday girl absolutely LOVED all the attention.  Of course, she napped when everyone started to arrive...so we ate and everyone enjoyed swimming since, afterall, it was 102!!!  She got to swim for awhile then it was off for CAKE!  [or cupcakes]

So really most babies are overwhelmed by the sound of everyone singing the Happy Birthday tune [off-key I might add] and be the center of attention, right?  Well...at least our first born was....but Charlie??  OMG...she was HILARIOUS!  Girl was bobbing her head [her signature dance move], looking around and laughing with a huge smile on her face.  Saying that she LIKED her special birthday song would be a total understatement.

[Uncle Jeff showing her how to pick up a cupcake...]

[Success!!...]

[Our beautiful baby girls...]

[Now see...didn't I say these would make great pictures??...]

[Cutie sister and cousins, Miley, Mason and Reagan...]

[Handsome cousin Joseph and his big boy haircut...]

Ran out of time for presents so we opened them after we got comfy in our Pjams.  Sophie helped show her how a present was to be opened and Charlie seemed to catch right on.  She LOVED all her cool books and toys.  Parents liked the clothes!!  WooHoo!!

[We even had to taste a book just to make sure it wasn't another cupcake....]

Thanks to everyone for celebrating our Little Bit's 1st birthday.  We couldn't have asked for a better day for her.  Love, love, love!!
